Transforming Adult Education Through Inclusion: An Active Yourope Initiative
In July 2024, Active Yourope hosted an Erasmus+ programme with expert Angela Santori, dedicated to inclusion and the skills of adult educators.
Between 15 and 19 July 2024, Asociația Active Yourope had the pleasure of hosting an educational programme led by expert Angela Santori, a behaviour analyst and specialist in the education of people with special needs and in migration. The event, organised under the Erasmus+ Accreditation, project no. 2023-1-RO01-KA121-ADU-000146934, aimed to strengthen educators’ skills and promote inclusion in adult education.
The programme was designed to give participants an in-depth understanding of inclusive concepts and practices, highlighting the benefits of diversity and inclusion for organisational success and personal well-being. Through theoretical and practical sessions, participants gained tools and strategies for creating and maintaining an educational environment accessible to all, including people with special needs and migrants.
Participants had the opportunity to develop individual education plans (IEPs), explore the use of educational technologies, and discuss the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of inclusive practices. Visits to local institutions offered a practical perspective on how inclusion can be implemented effectively.
The feedback received from participants was extremely positive, with many emphasising the importance and relevance of the information presented. The programme contributed significantly to improving educators’ professional skills, giving them the knowledge and abilities needed to create a more inclusive educational environment.
The activities with expert Angela Santori concluded successfully, marking an important step in Active Yourope’s efforts to promote inclusive education and improve educators’ competences. The association intends to continue organising similar events and to develop new educational resources, staying at the forefront of inclusive education initiatives.
