The Social Entrepreneurship for Young NEETs project is delivered by Asociația Active Yourope with the support of the European Commission through the Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 1 - mobility of youth workers, in partnership with six organisations across seven countries.
Through this project, 36 youth workers and leaders from seven countries who work with young NEETs came together to share good practice and to learn how to use social entrepreneurship as a tool for inclusion.
About young NEETs
NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) describes young people who are not in work and not following any education or training programme. For them, social entrepreneurship can become a tool for entering the workforce and countering social exclusion.
Project objectives
- Develop the competences of youth workers in their everyday work with young NEETs.
- Promote Erasmus+ as a resource for non-formal education activities in entrepreneurship education, as a tool for employability and for countering social exclusion.
- Foster cooperation between the project partners and share good practice on social entrepreneurship and social inclusion.
Non-formal education methods
The international meeting was based on non-formal education methods: ice-breakers and team-building games, simulations, and workshops for drafting project outlines. Participants experienced first-hand the tools they can then use, in their own communities, when working with young people in vulnerable situations.
